Donate via direct IRA distribution:

If you are 70½ or older, you can donate up to $100,000 from your IRA to a charitable organization such as LRWP and receive tax benefits in return. Gifts must be transferred directly from your IRA financial institution to LRWP, tax # 47-3574185.

Thanks to Carolyn Lange with Community Foundation of New Jersey for sharing this overview of new federal tax rules designed to encourage individuals who have a little extra to help those who are less fortunate. The new rules provide expanded benefits for New Jerseyans to give to their favorite causes, providing a much-needed boost to hard-hit communities and the non-profits (like the LRWP) that serve them.

Donor-Advised Funds gifting

The LRWP participates in Fidelity Charitable’s Donor-Advised Fund Program (DAF). A donor-advised fund is like a charitable investment account, for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations you care about. When you contribute cash, securities or other assets to a donor-advised fund at a public charity you are eligible to take an immediate tax deduction. Then those funds can be invested for tax-free growth and you can recommend grants to IRS-qualified public charities like the LRWP!


We welcome materials / supplies donations!

We always need gloves, garbage bags and garbage pickers for our clean-ups. We welcome donations of monitoring tools and watercraft (kayaks/canoes) for water quality monitoring.  Please contact us regarding food donations for our clean-ups and public event days.
