What: Johnson Park Clean-up co-hosted by the LRWP and Middlesex County Department of Parks

When: Saturday March 19, 10 AM-12:30 PM

Where: 1030 River Road in Piscataway, at County Parks Headquarters. Participants should meet in the lobby of the County Parks Headquarters Office. There will be signs up to direct folks to the office where there will be a table set up with sign-in forms, trail maps for County open space areas, etc.

Volunteers should dress for the weather, and be prepared to be outdoors. Middlesex County will provide gloves and garbage bags. Parking and bathrooms are on-site.

We had a great turn out and a lot of fun for our January clean-up with Middlesex County Parks. We ended up pulling about 15 yards of garbage from the park, along with 18 tires (17 if you don’t count the tire that was still attached to the bicycle frame). For this clean-up we will focus on the Landing Lane section of the park – especially the wooded section adjacent to the River. Everything will have died back off the forest floor at this time of the year so it’s a great time to remove refuse – please let us know if you can make it.
