June 11: Raritan River Access Listening Session

June 11 @ 9:00 am 12:00 pm

The Lower Raritan Watershed Partnership, Middlesex County Office of Planning, and NY/NJ Harbor & Estuary Program (HEP) invite you to join us for a special listening session on the topic of recreational access to the Raritan River and other blue and green spaces within the Lower Raritan Watershed and larger Estuary. Your input at this important session will help inform the LRWP’s understanding of recreational priorities, and help shape the HEP Action Agenda for recreation in our region for the next 10 years.

We will meet in the Middlesex County Commissioners’ First Floor Meeting Room, located at 75 Bayard Street in New Brunswick. Please pre-register to help us better plan for the event. Pre-registrants will receive parking information in a follow-up email.

Come prepared with thoughts on the following:

  • What is your favorite way or place to access nature within our Estuary? What do you value about your local waterways?
  • Do you wish you had more and/or different opportunities to experience the natural environment? What kind of opportunities come to mind?
  • Are there challenges/obstacles that may get in the way of realizing those opportunities from happening in your community?
  • What are other concerns or stressors that your community is currently facing? How has climate change impacted your community? Are there places/sites in your community where these concerns are more prevalent?
  • If you could pick one change that’s necessary to have a greener, healthier and more resilient community — what would that be?
