For health and safety reasons, we are not hosting our annual Holiday Potluck, but we can still come together and have some fun!

Please join the Lower Raritan Watershed Partnership and Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County on Zoom for a virtual holiday happy hour event on Tuesday, December 15th from 5-6:30pm. Put work aside, prepare yourself a cocktail or mocktail, and get festive with your environmentally-minded friends!

To kick things off we will provide a brief update on LRWP and Rutgers Cooperative Extension activities in 2020 and our plans for 2021. This will be followed by a special performance by LRWP Trash Troubadour David Seamon. Many of you know Dave – he serenades our volunteers during clean-ups! On December 15th he will perform live, sharing songs from his off-Broadway rock opera The 11th Hour that feature the Raritan and special places in our watershed.

To help get you into the holiday spirit, we will hold a contest for whose Zoom background (virtual or real) best showcases what the Lower Raritan Watershed has to offer. Holiday Happy Hour participants will vote for their favorite background, and the winner will be awarded a special watershed gift.

After introductions, organizational updates, and the performance by our Trash Troubadour, we will assign attendees to breakout rooms to have a moderated conversation with a facilitator. You will have an opportunity to chat with other environmentally-minded folks about issues in the watershed, share your thoughts about local environmental issues, and learn some watershed trivia wow your friends over the holidays.

We ask that, if possible, everyone turn on their cameras and show their beautiful faces (and watershed backgrounds!). After two breakout sessions, we’ll gather back together to announce the raffle winners and say goodbye.

The event is free and open to anyone interested, however registration is required.
