Jordan writes: “Mid-March isn’t a great time for warblers, but it’s still good for wintering birds, waterfowl and birds of prey. There are peregrine falcons that nest under the Route 9 bridge, and Cooper’s Hawks, mergansers, fox sparrows, juncos, and brown creepers when I scoped the site last weekend.”
To our experienced birder friends: we will start by covering birding basics, however we welcome you to join us to share your expertise and help guide discovery and understanding!
Our birding guide Jordan Parham is Conservation Police Officer · NJ Department of Environmental Protection. He graduated with a degree in Conservation and Wildlife Management at Delaware Valley University – where he know at the outset that he wanted to work in the conservation and preservation of watersheds and imperiled lands. He writes: “I love all forms of wildlife and try to learn and gain as much experience with them as possible, but aquatic and wading birds, reptiles and amphibians are my favorites.”
