Milltown

Ever hear of the 1914 American silent film serial “The Perils of Pauline”? Shown in American theaters week after week, audiences followed along as Pauline, pursued by a villain, landed in perilous situations. One famous scene was shot in the LRW – at Milltown’s “50-footer” train trestle (pictured here) over the Lawrence Brook. According to Rodney Luery’s The Story of Milltown (1971) the scene involved a dramatic plunge of the engine and two cars in the waters below.
