The LRWP is thrilled to be a part of MOTION: New Dance Works for 2016!
We often come across homeless encampments during stream monitoring and stream clean-ups. This choreographed dance piece, developed as a collaboration between the LRWP, choreographer Joe Monteleone, and the Monteleone Dance Collective, explores the relationship between social advocacy & environmental advocacy to consider the interaction of environmental stewardship with the homeless community that has taken up residence along the Raritan River.
MOTION: New Dance Works is a project of New Brunswick-based coLAB Arts. Funding has been provided by the Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission, Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders through a grant provided by New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a division of the Department of State.
